What is fixed wireless connectivity?
Vectorox uses fixed wireless technology to deliver internet and site-to-site network connectivity. Point-to-Point links provide dedicated connectivity between two locations. Point-to-Multipoint distributes connectivity from a central wireless base station to multiple remote locations.
Every wireless link needs the same four things: correctly aligned antennas, suitable line of sight, appropriate frequency planning, and reliable power and network infrastructure at each end. We check line of sight at both ends before anyone quotes you.
Two ways to run a wireless link
Two fixed sites
Point-to-Point (PtP)
A dedicated wireless connection between two fixed locations using directional antennas, linking the primary internet or service location to a remote site, office or building. It is used where a physical fibre or cable connection is unavailable, impractical or too costly, and it can provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity.
One base, many sites
Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP)
A central base station broadcasts a wireless service that multiple remote antennas receive. It is commonly used by wireless internet service providers, estates, business parks, rural areas and multi-building environments, where several locations draw connectivity from one distribution point.

Joining two sites is Point-to-Point. One location holding the service while several others draw from it is Point-to-Multipoint. Either way the survey comes first, because line of sight decides whether the link is possible at all.
